About
A complicated thing to describe. I am many things, but I am one thing, a photographer.
I look for details and their patterns, textures, shapes
I look at color and its differences
I look at positive and negative space
I look at light and how it’s still or dances
…. All within the frame of my camera.
Inspiration can come from many places, a plate of food, the smell of rain, the song I hear, a place I’ve never been or a place I’ve been a hundred times.
“It’s about reacting to what you see, hopefully without preconception. You can find pictures anywhere.”-Elliot Erwitt
My diptychs capture a commonality – a feeling, a shape, an unexplainable something– across disparate photographs.
“One’s destination is never a place, but rather a new way of looking at things.”– Henry Miller
I shoot what excites me and want to show the world how I see.
“The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.”– Dorothea Lange
